What does true confidence look like? I’ve found 6 bible verses that show what it means and how to become more confident in Christ.
(P.S: I took a really long time actually getting to the verses, so if you want, just scroll down to the end of this post. You’ll find ’em;)
Hey guys, I’m back!! It’s been a really, really rough couple of months but I am more than excited to be sharing with you guys again:)
Before we get into all the deep stuff, let’s just take a moment and realize that My Soul Runs Free has been at it for a YEAR! This time last year, I was starting to set up this little blog. Isn’t that crazy?! I hope and pray that as the years go on, I will not only be able to use this blog to share what I’ve been learning, but also that you can learn something, too.
(Also I’m going to promise more frequent blog posts so that you can take a better glimpse into what God’s doing in my life…!)
Okay, now that I’m done celebrating, let’s get down to business. Buckle up friends, because we’re going to be here awhile.
I’ve got 6 bible verses that will hopefully show you what true confidence looks like. Remember my very first blog post? I talked a lot about confidence and what it means to have confidence. That was one of the first times in my life where I realized that true confidence was important, and necessary to living the life God has for me.
Well, if you’re anything like me, you know that while it may not take long to understand the lesson, it’s very hard to put it into action right away. While I know what true confidence is, I am always trying to remind myself (and have been reminded by others) what that looks like. So, a year later, here I am, STILL learning about confidence. But, I know that it’s a very important thing and it’s something I’ll be learning for the rest of my life.
Last fall, one of my coaches sent me an email with 6 verses that all had to do with confidence and trust. He had just started coaching our girls team, but had already realized the desperate need for us to have more confidence in ourselves and in God. When he sent me these verses, I don’t think either of us realized how much they were going to help me through that cross country season and through my life since then. Confidence is key in being a runner, but more importantly, it’s key in going through life. Coming from a person who struggles to have confidence, I hope and pray that these verses will help you as much as they helped me!!
Philippians 1:6
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 10:35-36
Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
Hebrews 13:6
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Psalm 138:8
The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.
2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
